White River Valley Middle School Mosaic Club- FULL

Mosaic art is an Ancient Art form with a very rich cultural history. This course will discuss what Mosaic ARt is, History, Process, Tools, Techniques and  Safety. Through Hands-on activities Students will creat works of art to take home and be involved in Community Projects. 

Mosaic Art is a great way for kids to fit shapes together. They work with patterns and practice fine motor skills through the use of their imaginations and decision making.  Older children can develop their concentration and attention, memory, creativity and hand-and-eye coordination. 

Mosaic is a very free form of art. The rules beyond what adhesive and base to use are pretty minimal. It  is messy and colorful, textural, and lends itself to individuality. A  person tends to shine through in their finished piece. Their tendencies  towards organization or wildness show up in their work. AND they get to break stuff in a safe environment and it has been my experience that kids like that...a lot.
