2 Day Workshop- Saturday, December 7th, 2-5PM & December 8th, 10-2PM

Create a stained glass window from beginning to end in this 2 day introductory workshop. We will flow through the steps of the copper foil method of stained glass, from pattern and glass selection to, glass cutting tools and skills and finally to soldering and framing. Copper Foil Stained Glass lends itself to flowing lines and curves in stained glass.

Patterns, glass and all tools will be provided for use during class time. This is a beginner level course.

We will use tin/lead solder so please do not register if pregnant or breastfeeding. We will take all safety precautions and  provide training.

Instructor: Vermont Teaching Artist- Dayna Sabatino

Dayna  Sabatino is a Stained Glass and Mosaic artist with over two decades of  experience in the craft. Trained by the skilled artisans at The Stained  Glass Garden in Berkeley, California, Dayna spent the next ten years in  the Bay Area: teaching courses and building commissioned works with  Sabina Frank Designs; performing restoration work with Starbow Studios;  and working at The Institute of Mosaic Art in Oakland with the globally  renowned mosaic artist, Laurel True.

After  returning to the East Coast, Dayna settled in Vermont. She married,  became a mother, and began teaching stained glass and mosaic techniques  at art centers throughout New England. While teaching, Dayna sensed that  the practice of art and traditional handcrafts nourished a longing in  people for creative expression and cultural connection. It became her  goal to open a studio where she could work and teach, and plant the  seeds for nurturing a vibrant, inclusive, creative community.

In  2022, Dayna opened Day Breaks Glass Teaching Studio in downtown Bethel,  Vermont. Today, it has grown into a unique maker space, offering a  variety of workshops and creative experiences for all. Students come  from all over Vermont for classes in applied arts and handicrafts,  taught in a warm and inclusive atmosphere by experienced artist  instructors.

Day  Breaks Glass Teaching Studio is a grateful recipient of grants from The  Vermont Arts Council, and a proud member of The Vermont Crafts Council  and The Stained Glass Association of America.

COVID Policy: Day  Breaks Glass Studio's health and safety policies regarding CoVID 19 are  in keeping with all state and federal recommendations.
